Xavi Simons could finally go to a big club in 2025. The player from RB Leipzig, the club he joined as a free agent last summer, has aroused great interest in Manchester United, a historic club lacking leaders that wants to rebuild their squad after a season to forget.
The Red Devils are closely monitoring the 21-year-old player and this is what was revealed by Florian Plettenberg of ‘Sky Sport’. The problem, for now, could be financial, as the German team wants to get at least 80 million euros for the Netherlands international.
After training in the youth ranks of Barcelona, Simons moved to France, where he continued his training in a PSG that gave him the opportunity to play professionally. However, he did not have too many opportunities there and played on loan at both PSV Eindhoven in 2022-23 and RB Leipzig in 2023-24.
His skills and his nationality made it easier for him to adapt to the Dutch team and he made his breakthrough that 2022-23 with 22 goals and 11 assists. After responding to the increased demands of the Bundesliga club with 10 goals and 13 assists last season, the midfielder was signed by Leipzig, where he has 8 goals and 6 assists, more modest numbers than those of the 2023-24.
