Alexander-Arnold ‘heartbroken’ after Diogo Jota’s death

In a message on social media, Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed his sadness at the death of Diogo Jota, with whom he played together at Liverpool. The Real Madrid player was “heartbroken” by the news.

Real Madrid full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota’s former Liverpool team-mate, said on Thursday that his heart was “broken” and that he struggled to accept the idea that the Portuguese had died in a road accident at the age of 28 along with his brother Andre Silva.

“It’s very difficult to find the right words when your head and your heart find it hard to accept that someone you love so much has passed away. Diogo, your family was your world. They were everything. For Rute, his children and his parents, all our hearts are broken,” Alexander-Arnold wrote on his X account.

“And for Andre too. Brothers and best friends. When it hurts less, I want to remember Diogo with a big smile. Many laughs and happy moments. He was a great teammate and a true friend. Rest in peace, Diogo,” he added.

Diogo Jota died on Thursday in the province of Zamora in a road accident along with his brother André Silva, who also died in the incident.
