Grealish likely to miss Man City’s Club World Cup campaign

Jack Grealish is expected to be omitted from Manchester City’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, with question marks continuing to hang over his long-term future at the club.

The 29-year-old has endured a frustrating season with limited opportunities, starting only seven Premier League matches in the 2024/25 campaign. With the summer transfer window approaching, there is a growing belief that a move away from the Etihad could reignite his career.

While Grealish remains open to different possibilities, several European clubs are thought to be monitoring his situation. The chance to play more regularly at a top-level side may appeal to the left winger.

Manchester City, meanwhile, are pressing ahead with their recruitment plans. Grealish, who made a then-British record move to City from Aston Villa in 2021, was instrumental in their treble-winning season in 202/23.

The new expanded Club World Cup will take place in the United States between 14 June and 13 July, but it appears the Englishman may not feature as Pep Guardiola reshapes his squad for the summer.
